Create a News Page

There are two ways you can create a news page. The first is simply to create an ordinary page to which you can add new items and delete old ones. If you are just adding a couple of lines for short bulletins each time, then a plain page might work well for this purpose.

The second is to use the blogging feature of WordPress. This style works well if you regularly produce fairly long articles. These might be news items or they might be a Thought for the Week/Month (or just occasional). Each article is entered as a separate blog post and the news/blog page displays them in chronological order, newest first, showing a brief excerpt and a ‘read more’ link.

If you would like to use the WordPress blogging feature to add report items to your site, then you need a page where these articles will appear so that you can link to it from your menu. If you would like this on your site, please contact Skirrid Systems and ask for one to be added. The page name can be changed but the content will be generated automatically from your posts.

To add a new event report or article, you create a new post. New posts will be added to your news page automatically.
